-
- Description
- -----------
-
- The Windows(R) interface makes it possible to use cut/copy/paste between
- Smooth Editor and Windows applications, to use drag/drop from the file manager
- and to have Smooth Editor close down like other applications under Windows,
- with a save file query if necessary, when you exit Windows.
-
-
- Using SEWIN
- -----------
- To use this interface you need the files SE.EXE, SEWIN.EXE and SE.PIF to be in
- the same directory. You can start up Smooth Editor with Windows interface by
- executing SEWIN.EXE from Windows. The command line options are the same as for
- SE.EXE, except for the /r command line option (see below). These can be viewed
- by using SE /? in DOS. If you have SEWIN running, don't start SE.EXE from a
- DOS-box or from another program (for instance from an email program). If you
- want to do this, see the section about the /r command line option below.
-
- When SEWIN is active, you can copy or cut text in any Windows application and
- then paste in Smooth Editor. You can also copy or cut text in SE and paste it
- in a Windows application.
-
- You can drag filenames of files you want to edit from Window's File Manager
- and drop them on the SEWIN icon.
-
- If you want to you can start SEWIN up as an icon, for instance by clicking on
- the icon in Program Manager with the shift key down. When you drop filenames
- on the icon, SEWIN will start up with these files.
-
-
- The /r command line option
- --------------------------
- This option is made to be able to start SE from another DOS program or from a
- DOS box. If you execute SEWIN with this option, the Windows interface will
- become resident. If a version of SE.EXE is started up it will recognize that
- SEWIN is active and it will be possible to cut/copy/paste from and to other
- Windows applications. This is useful if you want to start SE up from other DOS
- programs and still want the Windows interface. If you exit SE the SEWIN
- program will remain resident. Be careful not to start up more than one version
- of SE.
